Unusual to find heavily circulated gold coins. The Mint and Treasury put a lot of effort and money into maintaining gold coins in circulation at full legal value.
Not too dirty, but definitely worn! In a G06 holder.
Bought this off eBay from a seller in Grass Valley, California - my hometown. Big Gold Rush area so could have circulated in the area for a long time before someone put it away.

How many here remember the Old Brown + Dunn grading book listing low grade gold coins as not collectible?
Yes and I just got my book out and it claimed that all fair graded coins to be collectible only as charms and AG coins are collectible only as space fillers.

Very, very nice coins. Thanks for posting.
Here is my lowest graded gold coin--it is a PCGS VF30. It has somewhat of a dirty gold appearance, and also a hint of remaining luster.
