Fun with a manilla envelope, a couple years and .999 silver.

I believe the toning has ceased, so I'll just throw into a Dansco. What do you all think?

To be honest, I would dip it and try again.
No way, it sorta resembles Hubble images of Nebula.
Odd idea of fun.
Very similar to watching paint dry.
Not a fan - sorry.

Those nebulae pics are awesome.

Looks like someone slobbered iodine on a boo boo. Ouch! Blame the manila envelope. Peace Roy

Toning has only ceased in that environment...or greatly slowed down.
If you were to put it in another environment, such as those colored cardboard holders (like the ones that say "Congratulations" or "Happy Birthday", etc), then it would continue toning.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
That coin is the reason they invented e-Z-est.
Looks like the hundreds on eBay for sale.
"PQ." "Rainbow Toned." "Cheap." "Monster toned."
Ugly. Just dip it and dump it.
I hope the envelope looks better than the poor coin....
Your example is why I believe only nature and time can create truly exquisite toning.
Yuck.
Oh my
Ugh
I don't hate it but I wouldn't pay a premium for it either.
Not eye appealing to me, but the toning dot nicely centered on the sun is kinda cool. The obverse detail on these compared to WLHs is still stunning to me all these years later.
terrible....

Number 2 terrible.
Definitely not for me.... I will reserve my comments since they would not be favorable. Cheers, RickO
Negative eye appeal
Would have looked better if some egg had been put with it in the envelope.

Me too
Do you think it will work on a saint?
I have a common 65 that needs something

Suggest that you use it as a pocket piece since you're in the mood to experiment with this coin.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
I wouldn't screw around with a Saint if it's a MS65. While .999 silver is highly reactive, .900 gold reacts very slowly and it may take a decade or more to see any change.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
Not appealing. At all. Not even close.
I like toning.....I do not like this ASE...
I'm trying it, but in one of those snap together holders with the cardboard (happy birthday, happy graduation, etc) to see how it tones over time.
My YouTube Channel
Not for me. I have a 2014 sitting in a envelope on my desk for the last four years that may actually look worse. When I get a chance I'll post a pic.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
You may want to toss the envelope out so that it doesn’t ruin another coin.
Looks more like a leeching out or a splat type of toning than a corrosive one.

I'd pass too. Normally , I'm not in favor of the dip, but I think for this particular coin in this particular circumstance. ..yeah, dip it and put it in the album.
