Looks like a 'missing some design in the fields' error
Hmm. I don't hate it. The obverse is clean & simple. The reverse is busy but not unattractive.
It's all crammed onto the reverse:

I've spent $6.95 on worse.
Will it even buy a cup of coffee?
In my opium the only way a dollar coin will ever be used is if they STOP printing the paper ones.
Whew, just that coin. I was expecting some type of catastrophe (earthquake, fire, etc.). 🙃
Sorry got the wronge thing here for a while.
As had been done in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK...
Smitten with DBLCs.
Good Lord that reverse is a train wreck.

I HATE EDGE DATES/MM!!
I do like the simple obv. Think I'll make my own counterstamp and date 'em with my own MM. Plenty of room.

You can see what they are trying to achieve, but it simply dioesn't have the appeal of the No Stars Dimes and Half Dimes.
I like the obverse. The reverse looks like a FUN token. Why does it have to be ABOUT something? Put a cool heraldic eagle on the reverse and call it a day.
I love the obverse clean design.
Give it a friken date tho!!!!!!!
I think that coin is great ! How come Michael? Well, you get one to 5 or more of them and with those open fields we can forever settle what a "few marks" means when it comes back 67 to 65 grades.

OMG, that is one messed up design!

Now wouldn't that make a cool Die Clash if it happens!
MS70's may be a bit scarce... Those open, clear fields will show every contact mark....Cheers, RickO
