The trifurcated market...
Nothing to add. I just like the phrase.

<< <i>Nice turn of phrase but I only use the medical definition of "bifurcated" which is an
organ or structure divided into distinct mirror images. Hence it stops at two. >>
Sorry, but this is not true. There are numerous arterial trifucrcations, including the arterial branching below the knee, and I use this word at work nearly every day.
<< <i>Don't forget about the quadfurcated market too >>
That would be quadrifurcated...

I stand corrected.
Google was pretty unhelpfull for this. I'm guessing these are irregular rather than a branching of three which are like mirror images of one another (such as in the carotid trifurcation)?

MrEureka is just practicing for the time that consortium-kissed coins become the third tier of "hot" coins.
That's a different dialect called Dave Albanese-

intr.v. fur·cat·ed, fur·cat·ing, fur·cates
To divide into branches; fork.
So whether you are forking or furcating.... you are branching...
To further clarify this... the consortium is a branching of the TPG's.... so a definite furcation is taking place... I hope you all furcing understand this...
Which rung are you on ?
Just like the word "Consortium" sounds very................................ impressive, significant and impressive. Used in a sentence it sounds even better............i.e., "I consorted with a group of professional numismatists yesterday". Oooooooooooohhhhh, it just sends chills up and down my spine to think I have been "consorting" and maybe even have been invited to join a "consortium".
In real estate litigation where claims are pending that deal with issues of:
a. who owns real property; and
b. money damages
it many times happens that the issues regarding ownership of property are litigated and decided first and only after these issues are cleared up do you then deal with the remaining issues of who owes money to who.
<< <i>Further, just so you know that I am not only a law and coins guy, I toss out the medical term "miocardial infarction" just to sound impressive (at least to myself
Daddy, daddy, can I have a trifurcated miocardial infarction consortium?
Ya' do, and you'll clean it up.

cc, you need to lighten up a bit.
Read a thread today and felt the need to re-visit the past.
Deja vu all over again!
Do I need tri-focals?
What does being a numismatic trifurnicator mean then? You've done all three TPGs? Or fellow numismatics?
I think it means when you're possessed by three different serial killers from the past. Peace Roy

"TRIFURCATED"
Boring medical term but this came to mind .......
I think I better stop being silly today
I can't get no,
Tri-fur-ca-tion!
I thought it was when you burped, farted, and sneezed at the same time.
This was (and may continue) a great thread... several chuckles and outright laughs...It may set the record for so many furcates in one thread... One could say that now it has been resurrected, it is 'furcatable'...
Cheers, RickO
If this thread gets any funnier Heather's gonna pull it...
I remember first mentioning "trifurcation" here, back in the day...
@RYK didn't they hang people for that back then?
Sorry, couldn't resist after the "Circle" thread revival...
I'm not sure why I read these threads...
