IF...IF a hoard of one of the "fab-5" saints was found...Guess date?

And why might it be the most likely candidate for a stash.

Easy. Look in my book on Saint-Gaudens double eagles. You'll find the names of people who bought one or more of the rarest dates.
I assumed 1921 or 1929.
How could one bag of 1921 coins (presumably 1000) not escape the mint at that time?
1929 I can sort of understand because they made so many 1928 and may have wanted to use them 1st.
What is this book you speak of?

I would bet 1932... since there were those who rebelled against the gold 'confiscation' and likely someone 'hoarded' a bunch... grabbing the most recent issues available. Cheers, RickO
Who put 1921 on this list?

The "Fab 5" are 29, 30-S, 31, 31-D and 32.
Bill Paul of AHM brought back over 40 1929 $20's from Europe (likely France) at some time in the very late 70's.
"Date collector fab-5" ???
or make up a term for me to use

A bag of gold coins had a face value of $5,000; this was 250 double eagles.
RE: 1929. "No coins were released to Federal Reserve Banks for commercial distribution."
Try searching for the term. Then explain why 1931-D would be excluded. You did not make up the term; you expropriated it
