No coins on my wish list this year... some other stuff though No collectors in the family, so none on my 'shopping' list either....This will be a 'coinless' Christmas... but a great one just the same. Cheers, RickO
The wife is giving me an old worn 93S Morgan dollar (AU53). I tried to tell her I wanted a new one (MS) but she knows enough about coins that she just smiled at me.
@CCGGG ... You are on the right track.... in the same category. I already have many of those lovely items... so now I tend to accessorize or add to associated equipment. There is a neat laser trainer with a smartphone app that I added to my wish list... lots of dry fire at home. Cheers, RickO
If they aren't interested in coins don't give them as gifts. Non-collectors don't want coin gifts and will often be taken when they walk into the shop to sell them. If they don't sell them they will probably end up being dumped into a drawer and forgotten.
@CCGGG...I have used one of the older units... this one is much cheaper and easier to use...I understand the sentiment about shooting the smartphone, however, they do have some good apps... like this one... just download the app, point the phone at the target on a wall (or somewhere) and shoot with the laser cartridge... the app records your hits and shows the results as you go along. A couple years ago, at a big family Christmas party, I passed out a little box to everyone there...inside, a chocolate silver dollar wrapped in foil sitting on top of a cotton ball...underneath the cotton ball was a brand new ASE! I was hoping to spark an interest in some of the younger generations, but I don't know what I'm doing this year and like ricko said, no collectors in the family.
I blew my wa...budget over Thanksgiving. Need to dump some to fuel any more holiday purchases...

I've heard about those but never used one.... I know there are times I'd like to shoot my smartphone.

My daughter wants this. I'm on the fence about whether to hold my nose and buy it.

Update to follow.
I say if she wants it, buy it!
Even if she doesn't like it down the road, she'll always treasure the thought from her dad.
I bought my wife a New Orleans Mint Morgan Set (98-04) all look to be 63+. We live in Louisiana and she is thrilled by the O mint coins.
