I was watching Fallon last night and Dolly Parton was on, so naturally I looked her up online and noticed she was born on January 19th, 1946. As I was looking at the date, it occured to me I knew that date. It just struck me that the Roosevelt Dime was first struck at the Philly mint on this exact date January 19th, 1946.
Not sure about anyone here, but I think that is something.

    Not disappointed at all. I think it's a very cool coincidence. Dolly Parton is a wonderful person. I wonder how many numismatist know what day the Roosevelt Dime was first struck. I didn't. My hat off to you for knowing that.

    That is a cool coincidence.... and I think a commemorative slab with the '46D dime and the insert signed by Dolly would be a big hit...Cheers, RickO

    I know I would buy my wife one. She is from East Tn and Dolly was her hero growing up. She even watched her movie while giving birth to our daughter a few years ago! lol

    All kidding aside Dolly Parton is a great humanitarian. She has given so much to so many people in need at times of need. She gave millions to house people several years ago after the fires in TN destroyed their homes.

    There are several 1946-D RPMs, making them 1946 Double D's. I love the idea. I'd buy one.

    About the reverse...the central portion of the reverse showing the eagle in that depiction actually conforms precisely to the stamp that George Washington used to seal his approval on official documents.

    Here's an image of one of George Washington's document seals:

    So, in the case, it's almost like George Washington stamped his seal of approval on the coin!!

    Thanks @cardinal. It is good to see a comparison. The overall design of the seal is great. I guess I was too focused on the “eye” of the eagle on the coin. It just appears too bulbous but after zooming to the eye... I notice what appears to be a hint of a possible pupil. Maybe wishful thinking but it is interesting.
