Do you scan the topic treads or the Avatars before opening?

I always quickly scan member avatars to open threads as I know the content will be either entertaining or educational (or at times, both).
You?

I visually scan the thread titles and open those threads that have the potential to be of interest to me. I think most forumites do the same since very few here have the time to open and read every thread.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

I just scan the threads for topics that seem like they may be interesting. I probably open about 25%. And maybe 1/2 of them prove to be interesting to me.

I usually skip threads that are not useful or applicable to me or the coins I'm interested in , but will make an exception here, to further boost my post count.

I only open posts where the avatar is different from mine 👌

I browse from an RSS feed reader. All I see is a list to titles in the order they were created, with "visited" topics grayed out. If a new topic seems interesting, I click to see a preview. Then if I want to read more, I click to open a new tab on that topic's page.

An RSS reader allows me to track all the sites I want to follow from one screen (news, forums, blogs) - showing me real-time updates as new posts are added.

My strategy is about collecting what I intend to keep, not investing in what I plan to sell.

I start at the top each morning and open those threads that interest me.... It may be about a coin type that I collect, a topic I need information about, something new and interesting... I really do not scan the poster icons...I look for those that have the 'new' tag....Cheers, RickO

I "try" to read them all. The reality is, there are some that are of no interest, but I try to learn something new about numismatics everyday!

    Both.

I also start from the top and see what looks interesting to me. Sometimes I'll open a thread even if the topic doesn't interest me if the member is one I like/respect.

Whereas often the interesting parts of a thread are the replies, scanning by avatar of the OP doesn't do a lot of good.
