Questions about this 1896-s Morgan

I bought what I think is a very nice 1896-s Morgan in an eBay auction recently. Has some heavy splotchy toning (several colors), and extremely sharp details (full bf). I bid low XF

thinking I had a shot at an AU coin. It’s got some nics on the mouth and nose area but I actually think it might be MS. Weighs 26.76g and I have no doubt it’s authentic but can’t say if the toning is real are possibly artificial.

I usually resell raw coins that I buy in auctions, but I’m thinking about sending this one to a tpg. Any thoughts on who I should send it to (I’m a rookie at this)? Should I send it as is or get it dipped? Do tpg dip coins? Thanks for any thoughts.

It sure looks like an 1896 with an added S mintmark to me.

Yep. Look at the area around the mintmark.
Even if it's authentic , it would not straight grade

I agree with TomB. Get your money back. If you are new at this don’t buy raw key date coins on eBay (or anywhere else for that matter).

As others have indicated, it's an added 'S' mintmark. Time for a refund.

The silver in the coin is worth more than a turkey. Keep the coin for your silver stack.
