Found these this weekend while digging!
The 1972 "In God We Trust" is missing the "IN G"
The 196* is missing the last number.
Am I getting close yet?

'eh, close.
1st one likely struck through grease.
2nd one likely a hit from another coin (PMD). Probably a 1961 with the 1 moved due to the hit.

Hi Jim,
The 1972 looks like it could be a'grease' filled die. A relatively common occurrence but an error.
The 1964 looks like it's most likely damage as I think I can see something through the motto also. It almost looks like a so called 'meter scratch'.
Maybe a strike thru on the 1972, I see some circular wear on the field leading thru the last digit of the 196? Probably pmd. IMO. The hunt continues. Peace Roy

I agree with the above inputs... grease filled and damage.... Do not get discouraged... there is much to learn and most of the members here have many, many years of experience. Cheers, RickO
