Do you plan to wrap a special COIN for your love one this Christmas?

Will you stuff her / his stocking with a nice coin (s) for Christmas ?
I am trying to Give myself

I am so very guilty of getting me so many early X-mas present throughout the year ....... BUT still....
This is the ideal present ...... just the right color for the Holiday HOHOHO

No, my love doesn't look at coins unless she is spending them.
If I bought my wife a coin for Christmas, I would probably be grounded for life.

Good grief! Apparently the Hallmark Channel started all new Christmas movies before Hallowe'en. Definitely not early.
Off the subject ..... is that a real mouse on your keyboard?
It's a hamster.

No, but I wish somebody would give me a coin as a gift.
Hint: it's on my signature line.
So if anybody wishes to give me a gift...…..
Everything is all right!
I'm not planning on it. The coin you are showing would be a nice gift to yourself.

Absolutely
Do it!
I haven't regretted mine yet

My Xmas coin gifts are (indirectly) to myself as well.
My mom asked me if I wanted something from the US Mint Catalog.
I said, No, sorry - but I'd like a cool half dime from ebay.
She liked that idea.
So I looked and the first one was very cool (a die variety where only 3 were known) and in her price range ($20), so I bought it.
She can wrap it when we visit at Xmas....
I gave out coins as a first present gag gift a few years back. You should have seen their faces when they opened them.
Never too early for Christmas.
I give my grand children a proof ASE every Christmas. I did get myself a 55 DDO for my birthday.

So many family so sticking with stocking stuffers like this:
Also in preparation for the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11.
My loved ones have nothing to do with this. I'll bet I'm not alone . I will probably put foot powder in their stockings.
I'm the only coin collector of the family and I had an early birthday /Christmas with the Baltimore show...

Hoping she will buy me one. I will have to pick it out.
No coins in either direction.... My wife is not interested in coins, and that lack of interest extends to giving coins ....She did give me a really nice handgun last year...so no complaints about her gifts........She listens to me all year long and usually gets me a couple of things I have mentioned. She gauges my enthusiasm and keeps notes...
I have given her some coins as gifts...usually a silver round with a message, or a foreign coin depicting a topic of interest to her... She liked them...Cheers, RickO

Haven’t bought a single coin in years, but 55 DDO would be on my shortlist if I get back in the game
@Paradisefound That would be a great gift to oneself. No regrets when I picked this one up.

My wife suggested that I pick out a copper coin so that she could "gift" it to me for our copper (7th) anniversary. CRO helped me pick out this one:
Also, "Santa" puts silver rounds in everyone's stockings every year. The kids like getting an "animal" 1 oz. coin from Australia, Canada, Niue, etc., though some years Santa will substitute a Morgan/Peace dollar, and this year I've heard that Santa couldn't help himself and got fancy. He'll be giving everyone one of these:
Love the color on your "gift," PF. Very nice!
Not yet mine but it is my ideal
A regular '55 Lincoln and a fifth of soju offers the same effect at a budget friendly price!
I think @Lakesammman needs this one

My only other comment(s) on this particular type of coin would be:
They are great, but they aren't rare. As such, get one YOU really like and with the character you want.
I, temporarily, owned a nice chocolate AU58 one for a few months. Sold it in order to fund the one I got above. It was nice, but I don't miss it as it was just like so many others of them. I made a few hundred off it as the dealer offered it at a good price to me and I, and the dealer I sold it to later, thought it was more valuable.
The one I did buy has character. Sure, there are high grades and higher designations (mine is "BN"), but so many are interchangeable whereas mine isn't (imo)

I have wrapped gifts in uncut sheets or half sheets of $1 or $2 notes.
Very positive...….

I always buy my own special Christmas gift but... I still haven't found what I'm looking for...this year.
For the last 22+ years we buy 5 of the current
year ASE. A couple of times we also added a
half ounce AGE. Since my wife does not have an
interest in NUMISMATIC pieces we collect together
this way.
Silver and gold, especially gold, always works!
Christmas? Nope. I'm holding out for Hanukkah and Ramadan. Semper Fi!

We just celebrated our 7th earlier this month. I didn't even know it was copper. All I got her was a Swarovski necklace and earing set. I can't imagine her face if I got her a large cent instead. I'd have had some splainin to do!
After 40+ years of marriage (to the same women, by the way) she said she's out of ideas what to give me for birthdays and Christmas gifts. Well, always happy to be the supportive husband that I am
, I told her I have a "prioritized list" of suggestions. They are all similar items enclosed in small plastic cases.
At the top of my list was a new (well new to me) 93s Morgan. She said, don't you already have one of those? I told her, not like this one.
Well this years Christmas gift arrived in the mail a few days ago. At first she said I'm going to wrap it and put it under the tree and I couldn't open it until Christmas.
OMG, I had to think fast.
Wait I said, we don't have the tree up yet and besides, I only have a 5 day return privileged on this "item", so I should at least check it out.
Reluctantly, she said okay but after about 30 mins she put it back in the presentation box and wrapped it up.
I did get to add it to my registry set but now I'm wondering if I "technically" really have it in my possession yet.
I can't believe I didn't take a picture of it while I had in in my hand. But I'll post it on or around the 25th of Dec.
I gave out coins for several years to some younger family members. I tried to do something with some history, usually older graded coins, morgans, peace dollars, barber or walking liberty halves... I'm guessing they are all sitting in drawers somewhere.
I still need to get a '55 dd as well. I received a penny collection from my grandpa and that was one of 4 coins missing (he had the 1909 S VDB and 14 D). Still haven't picked up the '55 to complete the set.
When we were just dating, not even a few weeks, I gave my then girlfriend a Indian $5 pendant from 1910. She doesn't wear it anymore, she is no longer my girlfriend and the pendant is stuffed in a jewelry box somewhere.
Because a couple of years after that chancy gift we married and that was over 22 years ago now. The coin she wears now is a 1908 $10, wanted to upgrade her to a Saint but she didn't want something that big.
No I just give her gold / diamond jewelry or shopping money. She loves gold coins on chains.
Nice upgrade ..... how about the ring to match?
I bought a $10 Liberty MS62 coming in tomorrow. If I wrap it and label it from the "family" to me would that count?
My wife sometimes comes with me in the coin show and sometimes urges me to buy coins that she like for me to have and most times I already have it. My kids used to go with me in Long Beach coin show and would do the Treasure Hunt, now they are in their early 20's and the only time they gave me coins for xmas was 2016. Pretty much I'm the only one in the family that likes coins/currency collecting and maybe next year start thinning out my collections on eBay or maybe local B&M. It's been fun and I am not ready to give up collecting - just start getting rid of low value coins/inventory.
YAP ..... that will definitely count
@Bochiman you should sell that 55 to me before it turns brow 😜
Martin
One day, I should probably sell it. One day, I may have to. But, for right now, it is safely and securely put away at ye old "BofA"... in an intercept box
Btw...it's already "brown" if you look at it straight on. The colors show if you tilt it in the light.
