Another re-engraved eagle feathers - 1951 half
Was looking at a 1951 proof and on the reverse the eagle feathers are re-engraved. The eagles left (our bottom and right) has add 3 lines in the middle section of the wing and 5 small lines connecting the middle with the top feathers. Has anyone else seen something like this?

Nice find!
CONECA lists 9 Franklin REDs
Most are Proofs, 1950, 1951, and 1952
Here is an image is of another 1951 Proof RED with the re-engraving on the other side of the Eagles tail feathers.
The 1952 obverse RED below is in my collection (PCGS 66, Cameo)
nice, where is the coneca list?
varietyvista shows reverse re-engraved for 1950 and 1953
I love these kinds of things! I've got the 1952 with the RED hair in a PR67.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
Re-engraved dies on modern coins are rare and very few resources exist for research. CONECA has very little info on modern RED’s. While Vista Variety notes nine Franklin REDs’ in the E-book preface but, as you noted, there are only images of seven (6 1950 Proof varieties and one 1953 proof variety). I have seen images of two 1951 Proof RED reverses, yours and the one I just posted. The only other one I know about is the 1952 Proof obverse I posted which is probably the same die as @UtahCoin's specimen. I think more are out there but no one is looking for them. They are all truly rare Franklin varieties.
I was looking through coinfacts and found another 1951 like mine, and then this one - looks like engraver brought his kid

@davewesen....That one (just above) really does look like it was done by his kid...
