NewP for my Early Half Dollar Collection

Recent addition for my half dollar collection, satisfying several sets requirements. I'm down to needing 2 examples in XF45 for my Capped Bust Half Date Collection, an 1818 and an 1830. Many more to go for the Redbook Variety Set. Gosh, this is fun! This coin really "popped" when I took photos of it. Luster and golds/blues. Shooting the coin with corrections made using the Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software makes a huge difference in bringing out the surface characteristics, even through a plastic slab.

Really nice coins (both the OP's and Lance's). This is a die state that I don't remember ever even seeing in hand--let alone owning.

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

Great choice! And a very cool die marriage.

I had a heck of a time getting PCGS to assign the "a" die state to the die marriage (which makes it an R5+, not an R2). After a couple of attribution failures I intercepted DW at an ANA show.

DW insisted on talking with Sheridan Downey who agreed to put the die state characteristics in writing. DW took the coin back to HQ and a few weeks later the coin was returned, O.102a.

Just three O.102a's have been attributed by PCGS, a 25, 50 and 58. Below is my 50.

Great looking coin, Lance, and as always, your imaging is unreal!
