    It looks like a D/D, but I do not know what that central 'slash' is .... We need @FredWeinberg to look at it... Interesting find... Cheers, RickO

    'copper plating shifting' during the strike.

    Not rare, or that unusual, although this is a
    better-than-average example of it.

    It can't be a D/D after 1989 because the mintmarks are on the hubs, aren't they?

    It's either a die chip or two, split plate doubling, strike doubling, or a combination of all three.
