Junk Change box find

jesbrokenjesbroken Posts: 10,600 ✭✭✭✭✭

Do you have a junk change box? I do and suspect most do also. Mine is made up of junk IHC's, worn Buffs, silver roosies and various dates Lincoln Cents among other coins. Most have been found in change or just picked up over the years. It has probably been 10 or more years since I have looked in the box and only just noticed it in my safe. Well I decided while I had my microscope set up, I would look at these coins. About the 10th coin was a vf-ef 1891 Indian Head Cent. Lo and behold it was the Snow S1 doubled die obverse. Rick's pics of the OF AMERICA are below then my coins pic following. I've got about 30 more coins to go thru but would be weird to find anything else.

Always fun to find something in your stash you didn't realize was there. Other than the coolness factor, is this a $$$ variety, or just something fun/interesting to note?

  • jesbrokenjesbroken Posts: 10,600 ✭✭✭✭✭

Rick Snow lists it as a 5 Star coin. CherryPicker's Guide 6th Ed Vol 1 lists it as VF $150 #EF $250 so I'm pretty tickled for something I've never looked for in a collective way. Sorry for the poor pics.
