IMHO i'm see is just a worn penny, not seeing anything that stands out, just looks like has some damage to the lettering

    well, it could be BOTH.

It is not the GOOD 1972 doubled die. There are some minor ones. Go to varietyvista.com and compare to pictures.

While worn, I definitely see the doubled die (either FS-102 or FS-107). I'm leaning more towards FS-102. Nice pull.

Thanks! Under macro it looks like a match to the 1972 ddo 004.Im not giving up but it can be frustrating!

That is not DDO #4, which is quite scarce. My guess from the pics is #2, though the coin is a little too worn and the pics a little too grainy to verify. Definitely a doubled die, and a nice find from circulation.

This is the FS 102. Doubling more pronounced on LIBERTY than the FS 107. Great find but probably not worth much due to the damage. Congrats!

How much would an error specialist dealer be willing to pay for it in that condition? I have no idea but would like to know.

While not the "big one," it is certainly a dramatic doubled die and one that jumps out at you under the loupe. If not for die 1, this would be considered a major doubled die in the series. As noted previously, it is already in the Cherrypickers Guide to Rare Die Varieties.
Nice job finding that, as they dont appear very often.

Nice good eye that would be a hard one to see with the cent worn a bit like that.

Die 2 is actually fairly scarce, probably scarcer than the "big one" but demand for die 1 is much higher.
If that were in my inventory, I would want $15-20 even in that condition.
    It would sell.
    Nice eye, @GEMan !
