It’s about time there is an organized coin show in wealthy San Francisco.

Wealthy San Francisco. Maybe it is. Not long ago it was by far the most beautiful city in our country. The natural setting with the bay, the Pacific Ocean, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the hills on the east bay are still unmatched. But the "City?" What a shame. The place is disgusting . Filthy. It's So sad. Don't think I'll ever go there again. But the memories of what once was are good. At least there's that if nothing else.
City's used to be free of filthy distractions much as coin show threads on this forum used to be free of city bashing posts.
I guess it's what we have to live with in 2018.
Thanks for the notice @bidask

And wear Kevlar if you are anywhere near pier 14.
Swampboy, sorry if I said something to upset you. I'm a 5th. generation Californian. I'm the biggest California booster you'll ever meet. I love California. For the most part the people here are outgoing and very friendly. The natural beauty is stupendous. The weather is unbelievable. But the truth is the truth. What was once our jewel city is no more. It doesn't make me happy to acknowledge it. But it is a fact. It makes me sad. I wish it were different. But it's not.
I wish I could get a read on how you really feel?
The ad did not mention admission fee of $8 or $6 with ad.
Seems kind of pricey thats ANA regular rate for a 35 dealer show + add in whatever outrageous parking fees makes for one expensive show to attend.
The only part of your comment that I don't agree with is "Not long ago". It's been awhile (20+ years) since it's been anywhere near the beautiful city it once was. It would have to be a pretty big coin show for me to even think of attending.
Too bad. Maybe Tony Bennett should write a new song.
I lived and worked in Mountain View, CA for a few years, right outside SF.... went there many times and really liked the city. Now, as I have mentioned here before, I will not go anywhere near CA... and certainly not SF where you have to watch where you step, due to excessive human waste - they have even instituted 'poop patrols'... Just another thing to encourage the leeches and wastrels....OK, off my soapbox... Cheers, RickO
I heard those poop patrol city workers make $135,000 annual pay plus benefits. It is a wealthy city to pay that for that!

I lived in SF in the early 70's. City was vibrant. I remember the human jukebox guy down at the wharf. Funny and talented when you slipped a quarter into the slot of his cardboard box costume. Peace Roy

It's the innovative, interesting people that make San Francisco such a cool place.
Disagree button is gone - whatcha gonna do?
I would LOVE for there to be a large show with national dealers in attendance in this area, and it's so sad that nothing like this exists. There's so much history and potential here for a great show.
The show mentioned above sounds like a smaller version of the Santa Clara show. In my experience these regional shows put on by Scott Griffin are all pretty much the same folks with the same coins. I applaud him for trying to keep the coin show circuit alive out here, but in my experience it's not really worth it to do more than 1 show a year. I wish it was different.
San Francisco used to have a great coin show at the Jack Tar hotel. Lots of good stuff and big name dealers. That was a long time ago. Nothing since..
A good documentary on what's happening to San Francisco is called San Francisco 2.0
It's on YouTube
You probably don't even have to wear clothes to get in.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Dang, ALL of San Francisco is a dump? Where ya’ll hanging out?
He who knows he has enough is rich.
Damn you MS...I cracked 3 ribs laughing.
I would go back to San Fran in a second. Def want to see more. I don’t know if I would travel there specificly for a show of that size but would defiantly attend if I happened to be there then. The parking and entrance fees are minor for a hobby of this type and even if not buying, there is 50 dollars of knowledge in the room no doubt.
Imagine the mustard stains!
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
