M.O.O.N. Show in Minneapolis

rmorganrmorgan Posts: 249 ✭✭✭✭

This was my first visit to a major coin show. I visited shortly after they opened, browsing a little here and there and getting a feel for what it is like. I plan to return this weekend for a second pass. I took this shot just before I left.

My strategy is about collecting what I intend to keep, not investing in what I plan to sell.

Looks like fun! Wish I could go.

Did MN ever fix the tax issue they had with coins? Just curious.

Cool, looking forward to hearing of your adventure. All I can discern from photo is guy in blue long sleeve shirt, center left, should consider his health above coins. Atkins may help, perhaps bariatric surgery...he has more pressing issues than a sore thumb from a Whitman could tell you. Truly.

I wonder how many hot dogs he has consumed to have a belly like that.

I have not been tuned into that issue. I did overhear someone saying something about a sales tax starting Oct 1. But I purchased a few low-priced things here and there with cash and no one asked for sales tax.

I did this show for 25 years when I lived in MN. This and the Northwest Show in March were always well attended and drew dealers from the all over the midwest. That picture brings back a few memories!

I have wondered about that show for a long time. It is just too far for me to make.

It looks quite busy from the picture... I look forward to a more detailed report from your next visit. Cheers, RickO
