Normal is vanilla and I like flavors

The hard part would be to determine what is "normal." Good grief, I guess in mathematics normal is somewhat equated with average. And average is often the highest frequency or in the case of coins, what coin(s) are collected most. But this could be a psychological trick question. I know my neighbor across the road is not normal, however, he probably would say the same for me. So for my coin collecting, I am not sure I want to state my collection is normal. It might get me committed to some happy house.

Collecting "stuff" is basic to normal human activities. When it becomes excessive, destructive or obsessive it is no longer normal.
I would differentiate between accumulating stuff, and the more disciplined, studious, and targeted act of collecting, the latter being the purview of persons with higher intellect and good taste.
A “normal” coin collector would most likely be considered quirky by the general public. But I can live with it I have met some of my favorite people while collecting coins
I disagree
IMO discipline or lack thereof ....... does not equate to a degree of intellect nor good taste
My exquisite taste bears no sign of intellectual disability ....... yet with no particular focus nor discipline I continue having such a great fun collecting

Who is the most normal or having the most fun?
@topstuf I am confused by the question
You don't include me. I've always considered myself "abnormal" for years because I choose to collect Buffalo Nickels.
You want headaches? Try it.

I've never been big on varieties and I certainly will never be accused of being normal LOL.
However, if I had to choose one; I would prefer collecting the bust halves.

What's WRONG with me?
I know exactly what you mean and I feel the same way about Walkers.
The days, months and years that I've spent building and searching.
I've had to reject coins and encountered problem coins, along the way, and also striking and surface issues.
It was a heck of a ride but certainly not one that I would like to start over again.
However, I've enjoyed every minute of it, even in spite of the headaches LOL.
It can be very rewarding for those of us, like yourself, with persistence, dedication and endurance.
