Think this ANACS AU-53 1850 Seated half can cross (at minimum XF-45) or should I crack it out?

This blue holder coin appears very wholesome in hand and is a very difficult date in this series. The area on the reverse shield appears to be a small lamination or strike-thru. What are your opinions on a cross/grade?
Thanks!

Erik

Think so, but why ANACS is pretty good. Is that die damage on the shield?
Great looking coin. It's not my series, but looks more like AU55 to me. I'd crack it out.
Coin like that, you've got to think that someone (or the prior dealer) has already tried it.
I would send it in...in it's original ANACS holder and specify the minimum grade you want. If it fails to cross at your minimum grade, it stays in the ANACS holder.
It looks like a couple of misplaced digits between the base of the rock and the top of 8 and 5 of the date...or am I just hoping too much for you?

Shield does not appear to be an issue here.

Nice coin...I think it will cross... Send it in ... and let us know. Cheers, RickO
If they don’t detail it I think it’s AU55 at PCGS sent in raw. Only thing I would be worried about is what looks like toned over hairlines in the field. Probably still safest to pay crossover tax and leave it in the slab.
