Coast to Coast Coins

Anybody have experience with this dealer? They have some high end inventory at what appears to be reasonable prices. Don't know if their images are the real deal. They have a reasonable return policy.

Feedback would be much appreciated.

I bought a couple of key date SLQ's (1916 and 1918/7-S) from them and the transaction went smoothly.

Actually - they were pretty bad a long time ago. I believe they even came around to posting on these forums for a short while. So they seemed to have turned the boat around selling mostly PCGS graded coins now. I have no reason to not buy from them now.

I have had great experiences with them, even buying raw coins. But as always, when buying raw, use protection.

Thank you guys. This is helpful.

Bought a couple of commemoratives from them in the last two years. Coins and transactions were good.

I have made a couple of purchases from them. Their images are lacking as far as size goes, but better than others.

I have a couple of PCGS coins purchased from them. Nice coins, priced at retail. They tend to stock more in the way of untoned or lightly toned coins; I don't see so many "monster toners" with premium prices going through their inventory.

Used them with no problems too.

I have been using them for quite a while to fill out my Complete U.S. Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1792-1964)) PCGS Registry Set. No problems at all. Still a ways to go and I see myself continuing to order from them.

Yes, as a neophyte I purchased a couple of Peace and Morgan Dollars from them as Unciruclated (Choice BU I think) that came back from the host as AU55 & later as I saw them appeared cleaned & that PCGS cut the coins a break on grading....

I pretty much like them but do not like their image format.
It doesn't seem like it would take a LOT of work to make the COIN images enlargeable.

But I've had good transactions with them. They do get some neat stuff. :)

I bought a nice PCGS stabbed Type 1 gold dollar from Coast-to-Coast. Common date in 63 condition. Nice coin, easy transaction.

I have had several transactions with them. They only do mail orders I believe. No shows or B and M. No problems.

Their ads sure are easy to view. The layouts are so pleasing to the eye compared to many others (think Tiso). I wish every full page advertiser would study and imitate Coast.

I have picked a few varieties from them despite the lo-res images.

Buy what you like. I do , and while I never directly purchased from there , I have had several coins from there and all were easy on the eyes , wallet, and fellow collectors.

I have purchased quite a few pieces, some I dont have anymore but they were great.

Didn’t know they had a catalog, thanks

I've bought and sold with them multiple times in the past few years. Zero problems. They do typically ask "retail pricing" and sometimes with a premium but they often have some pretty good stuff. Their web pictures have been a very good representation of the coins I've bought from them. Delivery has typically been a couple (usually two) days after paying VIA CC. Small discount for cash and they will deal on trades. Ask for or write to Will Salzberg, he know's his stuff. Also ask to be put on their emailing list for daily NEWPS.

To be totally honest, I buy from a number of on-line dealers and have not been as impressed with everyones customer services. Coast to Coast is at the top of my list. (YMMV)

They seem to have a lot of great coins. If there scans were bigger and better, they would probably sell a lot more coins.

I have bought from them several times with absolutely no problems. They are top notch in my book.

Years ago I purchased a "BU" Walker and Standing Liberty for my 7070. I received whizzed dipped blast white XF-AU coins. I never got around to returning them and just came across them again last week. I never ordered from them again. I am glad to hear that perhaps they have turned things around.

Yeah-their raw coins were pretty bad.

Boy, seeing the members posting to that thread really takes me back.

Have gotten several nice coins from them, no issues or problems at all. They do seem to get some very top notch early Lincolns, among other things.

When I started collecting coins again in 1995 I bought a 48 piece Classic Silver Commemorative coin type set from them. All the coin were to be BU and were not encapsulated. They sent me coins that were mostly unattractive, dipped-out white coins. For the $7000 I paid for them they quickly went back for refund with no problem. Never bought another coin from them. That was a long time ago and maybe they got there act together as did I.

I want to like them but their ebay images are far too small for me to assess coins and attribution. So I pass rather than take chances.

This reads like a case study for the benefits of slabs to the hobby,
from the 2003 thread where they were selling overgraded raw coins in big Coin World ads,
to the current day where they are selling PCGS graded coins from their website and on ebay.

I seem to recall they had limited supplies of slabbed coins in the early to mid-2000s. I have never heard (to my recollection) anyone complain about their certified coins, but had heard several complaints about raw coin sales.

Interesting... I remember some reports years back about them.... Now I read here that many are pleased with their purchases. I may go look at their offerings... Thanks. Cheers, RickO
