69 used to be my favorite .... not anymore
The 69 I don't particularly care about ... is my Palladium posted grade.
I am a fricking perfectionist to a point and not $$$ related but now I rather let this one go

I like it. Nothing wrong with that 69.

i spotted a minute spot on the feather ... I mean a mil of a minute spot and our host obviously seen it too
What should I do?
Sell raffel tickets for $1 per chance until you sell 2500 tickets then have a drawing,,,,,
Sign the slab and it will be the RARE POP 1 Paradisefound signed slab,,,,,,,
I'll do it for $1400 total for $5 each
If it's legal, I'm in for $5!
Maybe you should do 5,000 chances at 50c each.
You need something to keep you busy,,,,,,, you spend WAY too much time on this Forum.
U be amazed .... there is 36 hours to my day and I am a super woman
My last year Unc got a 69. Can't see why. But, It's fine.
Fancy
My $20 UHR first strike got a 69 when most went 70. I was bummed. I saw no reason.
It was hard but I let it go. It's gorgeous regardless.
Lance.
Yeah I can relate to how you feel...I was hoping for a keeper not so much 70 for monetary gain.
Did you let it go...as GO as selling it?
No, I still have it. With all the original Mint docs and packaging. At some point I'll sell it.
Some folks tell me to crack it and restore everything to how I received it. I struggle with the ethics.
Lance.
Me too .....I don't want Karma to come back to me.
I'm not too big on cracking. No matter what the grade it seems like a waste.
I would deal with it this way....
I'd take it from in front of me on my desk and put it across the room on a bookshelf
Voila
No more problems
I don't have bookshelf
Totally get what you are saying PF. In reality, it is often just splitting hairs between 69 and 70. I've seen MANY 70's that I believe have had a "flaw" and other 69's that were "flawless" imo. Your coin looks AMAZING, BUT, if that 69 is gonna bother you, dump it. If you are like me, once I get something in my head that I don't like I rarely change my mind. Life is short. Choose those things that bring you joy and let the others go
$50 raffles for 30 high risk gambler? The only thing I need is the 3rd party to run it
5 of my 7 went 69. Boo.
Yap and I am famous for that
Early Boo........
I am sorry
That's bad luck jwitten. I'll bet they look good too.
But 69 is better than 68.
I'll just buy it how much???
Hoard the keys.
Nothing wrong with 69.
Check out my current listings: https://ebay.com/sch/khunt/m.html?_ipg=200&_sop=12&_rdc=1
Spend it for its $25 face value?
Coinstar would reject it too.
Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]
Made me think of that old joke about the guy who raffled off his dead mule for $5 a ticket. When his friend asked if the 'winner' was unhappy with it, the man replied, "yes he was, so I refunded him his $5."
If PF does indeed decide on having a raffle, I'm in !!!
You could try it at NGC but that too would be a crap shoot; I don't know where they draw the line if they really do.
I'd be in for fifty bucks as long as it's one ticket per member.

I see a teeny dash like artifact in the field behind the neck. Is that all it takes to be a 69? This coin is gorgeous! The black sheep and a keeper. IMHO. Peace Roy

Awwwwww so sorry it wasn't a 70. You must be heartbroken...I know you had your hopes up and it is just one chance to get it right. The last population report I saw had the majority coming back as 70's, but there were a few 69's, and that one 68. I still have mine raw, still on the grading fence. Soooo, maybe a raffle would work for you, there really aren't many of these coins to go around no matter what grade it's in.
If the coin you posted is your 69 I'd keep it, I don't see a thing wrong with it. Rims are fine, no spots or dings that I can see. Unless there is something in the shadows it looks 70 to me.....jmo....
Is this thread going to be mostly 69 jokes?
Here is one
did ya'll know that 70 is just 69 with a +1 ?
I feel your pain. I sent in 5 gold Kennedy coins a few years ago unopened (never again) and all 5 were 69's.
I have noticed many of the 69's palladiums on True View have scuffs in the mirror finish by the date. Yours has some to the right near the rim, and others I see are to the left and lower near the rim. The graders are watching this area very closely. The coin itself is beautiful and well struck.
If this was mine I would sell it now for $2,500. Wait about a month or two and buy a 70 for around $2,800. Current 70 prices are as low as $3,150 with standard flag label and should dip below $3,000 in a few weeks IMO.
The $1,000 profit is still a big winner, so be happy. It is Saturday, go outside, take a deep breath, go spear a fish and forget about it.

Wow... So close... Sorry to hear this...You could resubmit. The price of a 70 on the secondary market will be high - at least for a couple of years. Cheers, RickO
68 is unsatisfyingly lonely
Back in the day of the First Ladies gold medals, I would buy my household limit and send them in for grading. I got a bunch of 69s and some 70s.
The 69s bugged me for a while. But later on, I appreciated them....that is, AFTER I resubmitted them and 2/3rds of the 69s came back as 70s!!😊.
Maybe your 69 is just a resubmission away from being a 70?😉
And you DOES know how to title a thread!
This is the TrueView close-up. IF (big IF) the graders are looking here, it could be the reason for the 69 in which case resubmitting may not be your best option. Sometimes it is just hard to know what they saw and didn't like, but the profit from the 69 will go a long ways towards a 70.

If you bought it to flip or sell, I’d be bummed. If you bought it to enjoy it, ENJOY IT! Looks pretty darn nice to me..... and it’s just a number.
What are those vertical lines on the tail feathers?

No worries. Those are part of the feather detail shadows in the design. Agree they look a bit odd at first until zoomed in on.
However on a separate note, does anyone else feel the eagle is stomping on the olive plant and ripping the new branches off with an evil look?

No pain nor heart broken here ...... it's just
It is and the True View is ready to download ..... the coin is half way over the Pacific
Do you even have to ask?
Time for a Paradisefound GIVEAWAY !!!
Count me in.
I believe that!
If the 69 bothers you, it’s got to go since it will ruin your enjoyment of the piece going forward (“but for”).
Wait awhile and buy a 70 later.
