Registry set discussion

What positive changes could be made to the registry sets.
I don’t know what can be done , but I see some sets with less than twenty sets and others with over one hundred.
I think there is a difference between those, maybe the top should be by %

They could trim some unobtanium coins from some of the sets - like the 1817/4 for the Capped Bust Half with Major Varieties set. Yes it's a major variety but with only about a dozen known, it means the majority of us will never complete that set. No issue with having it for the complete die marriage set though.

Ditto for removing the 1792 half disme from the US Type set, Circulation strikes, along with the 1853-O No Arrows half from the Seated Half series. I'm sure there are others.

Dansco 7070 minus gold and or a circulation strike only version would be nice, along with an Everyman 7070.

The Registry Set forum may be a better place for this discussion and as far as the Dansco 7070 type set variations, I have found that sending in a direct request for a new Registry Set to the PCGS registry staff, is the best way to get a new set started if they agree with the concept.

A new type set is needed. Major types with or without major variations and with and without gold.

There are 2 sets here. One with the 94-S and one without.

I would like to see a Type Set where every coin had to be a variety.

Would be great if they would photograph the coins as they grade them. I seen someone suggested this in another thread. I think it would add to the fun of showing your coins off.

I would like to see coins with mint damage added to the registry. I had a beautiful 1920 Buffalo Nickel that I bought with an almost unnoticeable clip and it wasn't allowed in my buffalo nickel registry. I don't understand the reasoning behind this rule.

Ditto (REMOVE IT FROM THE TYPE COIN LIST) for removing the 1792 half disme from the US Type set, Circulation strikes, along with the 1853-O No Arrows half from the Seated Half series. I'm sure there are others.

The 1792 half dime is not an "impossible rarity" to obtain. There are about 325 survivors. If that is your standard for an "impossible rarity," then you will also need to remove the 1796/5, 1797 13 star, 1802 and 1803 Small 8 half dimes. All of them are rarer than the 1792 half disme.
