NONE were sold at that price. Click on the sales. They sold for $3.45. The seller just upped the price to $999, maybe they are out of inventory.
This here is the reason. It’s done by many sellers to keep their listing active (especially if many people are on the watch list) while the seller restocks inventory.

Ya know, for a price of $999.00, you'd think they could waive the $0.35 shipping charge.
I question how many of these were actually sold. There can't be THAT many stupid people....

11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
No different than those buying 2018 silver proof sets for $10 more than Mint issue price. Available right now for $49.95.

Well, you do get $99 in eBay bucks if you buy now!

Yup at least it’s 888 if you include the eBay bucks 😂
Have you seen the Netflix show 'Ozark'?
This was exactly my first thought. Although it would be a foolish way to do any large amount of laundering.
It probably wouldn't be too difficult to negotiate a hundred dollars off of that price!
Please let us know how that goes for you!

That must be an inventory ploy as stated above.... I cannot imagine even a new collector making such a foolish buy... Cheers, RickO
They r nice for p,d,s of same year dimes
It's a "marketing strategy":
Step 1. Sell a bunch of nickel and dime sets for a few dollars each. This gets you a legitimate tag (e.g., "180 Sold").
Step 2. Bump the price to $999. The "180 Sold" tag remains.
And there must be at least one gullible customer that will "Buy 3 Get One Free".
