Remember the 41-D Toned Roll? How about a 40-D???

Three years ago I posted coins from a 41-D roll which had beautiful rainbow toning. Well, here is the first coin from a 40-D roll with similar toning, perhaps a bit darker, but with lots of green, which I really like. Let me know what you all think! I'll post a few more later.

Cool to hear this! A quick look through the roll shows several in this condition level, so you may be right! Are 40-D rarer (if that is a word) than the 41-D? At least one coin from the 41-D roll got a 67+RB.
Maybe! There are not as many high-grade coins in this roll vs the 41-D, but there are many more than I need. I will post some more and we'll see how it goes.

I wonder, would the coin in the OP go RB or BN? The 41-D were clearly RB, but the 40-D are a bit darker and more deeply toned.

I actually prefer the colors on BN over RB. I missed out on your 41-D's but I will not on your 40-D's.
Wow, beautiful coin! Would love to run across a roll like that! Think it would grade 66, maybe even a 66+....Real tough call on brown versus red/ brown. If I were submitting my hope would certainly be RB but wouldn't be surprised if it came back 66 to 66+ Brown. I'll take 2!

OK, I have finished imaging all the nicest coins from this roll, total of 21 coins. I combined the images into a 30MP Collage and uploaded it to the EasyZoom hosting site. I've been using this site for hosting my High Resolution stitched images, so this seemed a logical extension.
