One of my fastest BIN's and a cherrypick...1840-(O) Liberty seated half dollar...

I've been trying to cherrypick this WB-101 Medium Letters Reverse variety for several years. It's probably one of the quickest Buy It Now purchases I've ever made lol. Small reverse ding but I think I did well for $28. This coin was struck at the New Orleans mint but doesn't have a mintmark because the tail die for this variety is actually a leftover 1838-O bust half dollar reverse die used by accident. 1838-O bust halves had a obverse mintmark.

BIN in a flash because you know exactly what you want as well as being equipped with good knowledge. Congrats
Knowledge is power, and comes in handy too. Nice pickup.
i didnt know that either, congrats on the pick up
Interesting....good information and a nice old coin...Cheers, RickO
Thanks all! It's a cool variety and mule.
Congratulations, that is one that can still be found in the wild from time to time. A couple of years ago I grabbed an XF45 in an unattributed PCGS holder from a well known dealers inventory. I have kept it in the original holder along with the dealers sticker and price just for a conversation piece and to show that good finds are out there for those who gain the knowledge and work at it.
