Nice
Hoard the keys.
Nice variety Jon... not sure what environment it encountered to acquire the tarnish... looks .... well.... interesting....
Cheers, RickO
+1 and I wondered if the toning happened after it was slabbed
Super nice, Van Gogh
variety and color. Looks like another superb piece for your ever growing collection. Nice score, Jon.
Looks like it was in an old display holder for a long time. Nice bullseye obverse, reverse must have been exposed to sulfur for some time. Nice variety and look for a fan of deep toning. Good pickup.
Great original, non-played with Washington Quarter. Love the reverse too. Yummy!
Dave
Looks as though it spent quite a few years in its original US Mint Set cardboard!

I like it!! It reminds me of a '48-S I have.
How can someone give you a disagree? Talk about low class. I know he get's tired of you posting your newps, so simply don't open the thread!! I enjoy seeing your new coins. Thank you Jon.
Sorry the colors on your washie are a turn off for me.
As long as you like it that's what counts.
I'm guessing that coin shows a lot more color when tilted under the light, or photographed naked with axial light. Are there Truviews available?
If it actually looks like the images posted, I would think of it as an "Albert Pinkham Ryder" coin .
Jerseycat is a Total Tool.....he also gave Ricko a disagree just for posting.
It looks much better in hand with lots of luster that doesn't show in pic. And no there isn't a TrueView..wish there was.
Thanks! that's what I was thinking from the small image around the mintmark. Many coins are like Indigo Buntings, they are drab until the light hits them just right, then... Wow!
I like it!
.....but the ear is still there???
That's nice!
Great mint set coin. 52S Washingtons are among a few of the most attractive date/mm's in the series
+1 and I wondered if the toning happened after it was slabbed
nice addition good luck
I'm pretty darn certain that the coin in question was in a US double mint set from 1952 and sat in the mint set for many years in order to acquire that toning.
