Hsn Mike Mesiak at least he is charging $500.00 more than what there selling on EBay for the same coin. I can always count on Mike getting his 20% right off the top.

    They got more in!

Now they are showing 14 left.

Would be fun to watch or tape the show when these are being sold for a good laugh to see the sales pitch at $4,025.17 each, including shipping.

Hey SS....am I too late to get in on your group buy and save on insurance for buying from them?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

You try producing a t.v. show and see what it costs.

    I'm surprised he breaks even.

Great chart! Are that many people so foolish with their money?

At the price that he is selling the palladium, you would think he would throw in some tulips in order to add a nice “cent” to the deal.

The Great Depression period made people hopeful in a slightest promise :( and I believe it is NOT stupidity :|:'(

It’s a bit sad to take advantage of people like that. One would think that the consumer would do some research too so that they don’t get taken. I would rather take the $4000 and buy gold or silver at today’s prices rather than put it in an overhyped overvalued palladium round.

Yes, maybe that was a bit harsh, but sadly many who shop on HSN are not aware of other options. If they took this coin to a local dealer to sell right away, they would learn a lot more about pricing.

Better than a 95% chance of getting a 70; in a field where making money is harder and harder, it seems sensible to submit to grading for the huge advantage.....

"2018-W 1 oz. $25 Proof Palladium Eagle NGC PF70 ULTRA CAM EARLY RELEASE PRESALE.

COINS IN HAND WILL SEND TO NGC IN THE MORNING. WILL USE WALK THRU SERVICE SHOULD HAVE COINS BACK BY 09/27/2018

I CALLED NGC YESTERDAY AND ASKED HOW FAST THEY COULD GET THE COINS BACK TO ME. THEY SAID WITH WALK THRU SERVICE ABOUT 10 DAYS. WE WILL SEE.

    PHOTO IS A SAMPLE PHOTO.

YOU WILL RECEIVE ALL GOVERMENT PACKAGING. BOX & COA.

"YOU ARE GUARANTEED A PF70 ULTRA CAM."

So with all the coins already graded, are regular submitters being discriminated against?

Logger7 I understand your question but in the world of Collusion and the sort very hard to prove. You just have to pay up submit and pray to the Coin GODS! That person selling that coin probably submitted 10 coins and he knows that the proofs have a better chance of making a 70. If he is short he just tells one of the buyers take a 69 at a lower price or he just cancels the sale. Out of stock not much the seller, or buyer can do. I am sure it happens all the time. I have had a few coins that never showed up and the seller never answered my emails. After 31 days I submitted a " Did not receive the coin " complaint and EBAY guess what they REFUNDED ME. CASE CLOSED. Sort of a sad way to end it but at least I got my money back. The seller just drifted out into the Internet lost world.

Yes, but the same is true of a lot of other retail outlets (Littleton, anyone?) The thing with something like HSN is not that they make exorbitant amounts of money on each coin, it's that they spend WAY MORE on advertising than most dealers. And as anyone who buys Tide instead of generic detergent should know, the customer always pays for the advertising.

I don't understand the question. Can you clarify? Discriminated on grade or turnaround time?

A PCGS PR70 2018 Palladium just sold for $3,059, so I still say the HSN NGC ones above are overpriced.

But yes, they have customers who just want to pay that premium, I guess for the show's entertainment value.

Don't understand the question? When certain submitters can get better service for the same tier something is wrong.

  • logger7logger7 Posts: 9,120 ✭✭✭✭✭

NGC hasn't published their population figures on these yet, but the stock image of one 70 does show up: https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/4859184-001/70/

PCGS pop. figures are around 200 on the 70 coin now: https://www.pcgs.com/pop/detail/palladium-25-eagle-2017-date/152898

It was unclear whether you were referring to turnaround time or the grade.

Approved dealers get a special rate, but the tiers of service are the same. Anyone can pay for show walkthrough and get 4 hour service.

I don't see anything wrong with someone who submits 10,000 coins per year getting a special rate. Frankly, I wouldn't care if someone who submits 10,000 coins per year getting faster service. Most businesses from casinos to office supply stores, from auction houses to eBay, cater to their whales.

If you submit coins to Heritage, you will probably pay 10%. Depending on what it is, you can probably negotiate that down to 0%. A whale will start at maybe -3% and go down from there. You can call it unfair, but flip the script. If you did $100 million in sales with someone over 10 years, you'd want the swag that goes with that. Wouldn't you?

Ok, thanks for providing the reasons for what may be going on. I wasn't aware of how the system worked when a large submitter already got their coins back, I wasn't thinking of the 4 hour grading.
