    Looks like corrosion

    Yeah and the 2 round spots have already eaten into the surface of the coin so removing the PVC will show 2 corrosion spots.

    Yes, and one time I got a coin described as having green hues of toning at the center. It was an auction before computers, yeah there was once a world without computers and pictures and magnification to float over the coin on your screen. And there was no cellphones and we were tethered to the wall by a wire and THERE WAS NO EASTER BUNNY AND I FOUND OUT THERE WAS NO SANTA CLAUSE ONE YEAR OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
    Hope this helps. :-}

    Yes it sure looks like it. CAC will usually refund you your purchase price to get the coin back in order to "desticker" it.

    Sell it fast. Or, send it to PCGS but get it fixed.

    Thanks, good to know.

    Definitely looks like PVC....and I believe the surface beneath will be damaged when it is removed. Cheers, RickO

    That can't be fixed.

    I strongly disagree. Actually, it can! I've conserved nickels much worse than this piece. The problem is the CAC sticker. Best to sell it as is. Or, if CAC buys it as a member posted above... what an amazing deal! I don't know how they could do that. If true, it's no wonder their stickers are so important.

    LOL, very old news! I told JA about two years ago that his stickers could be easily removed. I suggested he get the self-destruct type. I guess it really does not matter as the coin can be checked on the website.

    Nevertheless, you deserve a big, fat :p for feeling compelled to show the entire world about your "clever discovery."

    Actually if you look closely it DID self-destruct. You can see a large section is transparent leaving parts behind. Not a "clever discovery". You said the sticker is a problem, so this is a tongue-in-cheek solution.

    Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

    Thank goodness! I thought you knew the "trick." The one I removed recently from a cross-over must have been an old slab. Sooner or later I'll stumble upon one as in your post.
