I have a few but maybe this should be on the metal detecting boards.
Successful Trades: Swampboy,
Maybe but this is mainly about circulation finds I just added the jewelry part because the best thing in circulation I found was a silver rosevelt which is not very much compared to older collectors.
Just a very circulated silver washington quarter in change for a coffee.
When my Uncle Sam deemed me EXTREMELY EMPLOYABLE due to my birthday, I found overseas that the locals had squirreled away things like gold and silver certificates, North Africa, Hawaii, over stamped etc, currency, etc. All sorts of obsolete US Currency
They were more than happy to get rid of those ugly old "strange" money at a discount to get crisp new US 100 dollar bills.
A stunning 1998 Lincoln Cent that came straight out of the cash register at a Wendy's restaurant.
PCGS called it MS68.
Sold it on eBay. Wish I kept it. It's currently in a registry set so I'm happy it found a very appreciative home.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
WOW
I found 3 Series 2004 $20 bills on the curb outside of Great American Ballpark once. Nice day for me, but I kinda felt bad for whomever dropped it.
The best I have ever done with finds on the ground was a $20 bill.
Twice I found a $100 bill

Two weeks ago I found a folded up grocery list inside the grocery store on the floor, with about $50 inside. I turned it over to the store manager and I will forever wonder what they did with it

Ring found on the pavement of a parking lot. 14k setting, 1 carat total on diamonds (the main part is 4 matched diamonds, not a single diamond). Tried several ways to find owner, but never connected. The silver dollar was among the money someone used to pay for a Jumbo Jack in the early 1970's. My brother worked the graveyard shift at Jack-In-The-Box and would bring back good silver for me. Silver around then was a little more common than now, but most had been taken out by the 1970's. Silver dollars were very uncommon in circulation.

I found a unscratched lottery ticket (rather about 4 of them still attached to each other) only one though was missed and not scratched off, anyhow I scratched it and it was a $100 Dollar Winner
Steve
The only cud I ever found in change.

A year ago my wife found a $10 bill along the Appalachain Trail near our house.
Every time I pass the same spot I say "OK, now we're looking for a twenty."
This item looked like a gold 2-1/2 dollar coin on the ground.
It wasn't.

Best find in change: 1921 dime in G4
Best find off of ground: 1876-S dime in AU (visible in shallow water at a local pond).
Wow, lucky guys, thanks for sharing !!!
When I was 8 years old I found an 1877 British gold sovereign in a parking lot on the way back from a convenience store. It had a hole in it like it had fallen off of a chain or something. Shortly afterward the coin was stolen from me.
Last year I found two folded up $20 bills bouncing at the top of an escalator in a local mall. No one else was anywhere in sight so I have no idea who may have dropped them or when (they were easy to miss as they just appeared to be scrap paper at first glance.) Prior to that my best find was a $10 bill laying in the dirt next to the sidewalk in front of a parking lot. (That was probably 15 years ago.) Prior to that my best find was a $5 bill floating in a puddle next to my car in an LA hotel parking lot. (Probably 1996.)
