Do you see a rim issue or is that the light???
Also...What is up with the edge at 12:00?

That would presumably be a star on the edge.
I would be more concerned with the edge at 3:00.....Cheers, RickO
He’s on Hawaii time. They’re three hours behind.
I'm not sure why 1927 & 1928 MS66 coins are trading over PCGS but this is the lowest price I've seen in a long time.
It sure looks clean except for maybe the edge

I agree that the rim looks a little banged up, but It's a nice coin !!!
I've been thinking about this one for a few days but I can't quite pull the trigger.
The price is $2,175 which, I think is a historical PCGS low.
If anyone is interested, it is here.

The photos are overexposed. Overexposed photos can hide small defects. The coin is probably correctly graded. Also, there is no "sticker", so, if it had been submitted to a "sticker" company they may have thought it in the lower end of the grade. It is a coin I would want to examine in-hand before considering it for purchase.
Yep...Me too.
The above coin probably got knocked down a + or full grade because of the rim.
I'm guessing this coin probably lost a + on eye appeal for the carbon spots.
I'm tempted by coins like both of these but should probably leave them alone.

I have a Saint that looks like a 70 - except for the reverse....and the obverse.

That 1927 does look very nice, but those overly bright pics make me want to see it in hand. The 1925 - too bad about those copper spots. Yes MS Saints as type are very common, but it pays to be very picky. Far to many ugly 65's and 66's out there - and those grades should never be viewed as 'ugly'.

I've bought a few coins from Stuppler and had no issue. Their photos are a bit funky though, as if they are scans.
Collector, occasional seller
I don't like their photos , at all, and their prices are at retail ++. I bought one coin from them. I paid A LOT for it but it is definitely 'PQ' as they describe.

Generally speaking, the market punishes coin for copper spots far more than it should. But in this case, a discount seems appropriate.

I guess what I'm questioning is a single issue with a coin that makes it a MS66 rather than a higher grade.
Like the bag hit to the face of this 1928

It was just a joke.

Looks like a nice 66. MS 70 is perfect.
It’s about a $2300 Coin. I would not buy it in hope of 67.
My highest offer from my table on bourse prolly $1650.
Try calling them and asking how much they would pay for that coin back. I think you are going to learn a very big lesson as to how much faith they put in their own sticker
$2300 was my offer on the 1925 but no luck.
I guess my question should have been...Would you rather buy a properly graded coin with a bunch of tiny imperfections or one big flaw that makes it a MS66?

ahhh...crap, I bought it.
Sorry folks
I know you gave me good advice but what can I say...
It was pretty.

Don't hate.

How do I edit?
It was APMEX not Mint State purchase

If you bought from APMEX , odds are you will receive a different coin. They use stock photos as a rule...
This will be my 4th purchase from APMEX and it has never happened before.

I'm quite happy with their customer service.
This is the coin I bought for $2,695 (MS66)
