Question about toned submissions
I was wondering of those who have submitted mint set toners could share some of their results? Grades or questionable toning? I went to the Round Rock show yesterday and picked up some really nice toners in some 1950's mint sets. ...few of the toners are real "moose" coins. ...thinking about submitting them.

If you post pictures we will be able to tell you what has a chance of grading and what doesn't
If they are still in the original sealed mint packing, they should be more likely to pass as NT. And photos would help.
Mint sets weren't sealed until 1959. They were in cardboard cards prior to from 1947 - 1958.
Thanks, I'll just send them in. The cents are consistent with toners in my (PCGS and NGC) set. I'll post some pics after they get back. It'll probably be a couple of months. I've exhausted the coin budget for this month. I did get a couple of really nice PCGS 65BN's (18-D and 26-D) for my set, though.

You are correct, should have said original mint packaging.
They called it cello yellow!
The toning on those is still very distinctive.
Mint set toners have a distinct toning that should be recognizable to anyone who has handled them in the past. With that said, PCGS has been quick to place toned coins in genuine holders in recent months and has over corrected from the period where it slabbed all of those god awful ASEs (and not the PCI target toned ones). If the grade or designation does not fit, sometimes you must resubmit.

I paid my money and took my chances. All of the mint set coins graded out. I'll post images once they post them. For now, here's what they graded:

Here’s a couple pics I took with my phone before I sent them off. Sorry, it’s the best I could do since I don’t have a decent camera.
Congrats and thanks for following through with an update.
Looking forward to seeing the TVs.

Here's the TV pics... I'm pleased with the pics, though I think the nickels have much better eye appeal in my home lighting.

Love the last Lincoln cent (53-D). Interesting mintmark on that one.
I really like the toned Jeffersons!
