The media's focus here on the mainland is the flooding. The winds are weakening but some areas have seen over 2 feet of rain so far. Hopefully all flood prone areas were safely evacuated.
Hang in there. Hopefully you have turned the corner and conditions will soon improve.
Stay tight and dry....let us know how you are as it passes. Cheers, RickO
Good luck, forum friends. And keep your treasures high

Does anything good wash up on the shores in Hawaii after a storm?
I know that in Massachusetts all manner of sea creatures can sometimes wash up, as well as lobster pots. Years ago a friend told of how he found a small Mercury outboard motor on the beach after a storm - he broke it down, cleaned every part, and put it back together and used it for years afterward.
In Florida as I recall there is a beach where after every big storm treasure hunters gather since over the years they have found gold and other valuables that wash ashore from a centuries-old shipwreck.
SurfinxHI: Those pics you posted have me concerned that you might have gotten flooded out.
Are you OK?
Pete
I'm in FL. Your turn, sent you this one.
Repetition of ignorance is ignorance raised to the power two.

Weather will be great at the annual Hawaii State Numismatic Show in November. Hopefully all the Hawaii members will attend and many from Mainland will vacation and stay for the Show. Stop by and say Aloha
Fire now burning in Lahaina and Kaanapali (Maui) !!!
You missed a spot.
My prayers go out to those on Maui !!!
I'm intimidating the storm gods by leaving blanks......I'm sure it will keep the flying debris out.
Off to take the dogs for another walk before it gets too weird. Wind is up to about 25 mph sustained now, but no real rain yet.
Rain is just hitting south shore of Maui now, and moving onshore. It should help with the fire.
Keep us posted, and be safe, thanks !!!
Now a fire on West Oahu !!!
I was kickn back last night on the beach and saw what looked like the service road to the windmill farm had a bunch of roadside flares going. Thought it was weird, called maui fire department and the line was out and said to call 911. I'm looking at it some 15 miles away, and thought for sure someone driving down the highway, or someone that lives in Maalaea would have called it in... so I didn't call 911. Checked my phone, that was at 10:12 pm.
They aren't even talking about that one, so I'm a little relieved I guess.
My vet came through with some meds my cat needs this morning, which is a great relief. I would have run out on Sunday, and who knows what the next 48 hours may bring. Needless to say, I'm grateful.
Maybe the rain will help put it out?
Yay, Hurricane Lane has been downgraded to a tropical storm. Still a lot of rain, flooding and wind, but we dodged the bullet. Thank you to all who responded to this thread and supported us by keeping us in your prayers.
Mahalo (Thanks) and Aloha from Hawaii !!!
Heading home...should be in HNL around 9am.
So glad the worst missed you!
