Remember the old "Chat" option on the old forum?

At times I think it would be nice to see that come back again. Others times I see how individuals might "flood" the screen. Overall it was nice to have quick simple chats with a group of collectors.
Anyone else feeling nostalgic?

It was fun but in the eyes of the moderator got out of hand.
You and quite a few others. This forum has quite the surge in posts as of lately.
ANA was a part of it, but overall its people having fun with numismatics.
On a public forum you can only moderate so much, especially when its a live feed.
Although, as a company they should be able to handle some criticism. I've not always agreed with CLCT, but overall to me they have been the far fairer grader. That and more consistent and strict, yes, there are exceptions that sneak through.
It had nothing to do with criticism of CU, Jinx. We had a more expressive crowd here a dozen years ago and the moderating was a bit on the heavy side. Unfortunately many of the charter members have departed.
No worries, no accusations were made. As for the moderating, I've had a few posts "poof", many of us never really knew why. So I do agree they were a bit heavy handed in the past.
Well Im headed to bed. Ill let the group discuss the topic.

edit to say if you're talking bout a dozen years ago you were probably are referring to the Open Forum.

I miss the Open Forum... it was great... Really a 'free for all' atmosphere... The poor moderator (CarolJ) had a tough time and eventually had it killed off...Too bad, it was a lot of fun... Cheers, RickO

Live chats can be fun, but usually Trolls get in and then things get offensive and before you know it things are out of hand. Unless there was a Members Only Policy. That might work. Let's take a vote. Is there a Moderator reading this somewhere?? Hello? Can we have a Members Only Chat Room?

We most definitely could not have an open forum. Not with the topics we discuss. It would need to be members only.
