Whether you are for or not into their special sauce or their 50th Anniversary tokens...the Contest drew almost 2K worth of attention (more or less); I think tripled of the gold coins'

I never worked so hard for any kind of contests before....having bombarded with several PMs & last minutes inquires whether they names are indeed in the bucket :) and the outcome of the drawings.
Mango my lovebird decide to have fun with the test run .... flew away with a name and chewed the heck out of it >:)
.....causing un-necessary delay.

I am now back to pursue a heck of a different coin on an on-going hunt .......
Here is the culprit .....

Thank you again, I think the participation in the gold contest was low because you stated that it was only open to people who didn't have any gold, I imagine that several on the boards had at least some gold in their collections. In other news, I stopped by the McDonalds where I got my only coin and asked if they had any more and the lady said, "here, this is all we have. And gave me the four I needed, which happened to be the only four they had left. Whoot!

I was going to "go there" but I had second thoughts. I was afraid @Paradisefound would cause JBK to be found inside an active volcano. :o

(I do wonder if it tastes like chicken).

Beautiful lovebird. I owned a Lorikeet for years- she had a vocabulary of about 75 words. Blew kisses at me right before she died in my hands. I'll never own another bird.

On a brighter note, birds are quick studies so you better change up your routine with these giveaways. They are opportunists that never let a moment slip away. Might be best to do these when Mango is sleeping!

I see lots of those birds in Makena, they hang out with the cardinals.

I had a pair of love birds when I was younger and they looked just like Mango. I learned to never buy a pair. They focus on each other and won't develop that bond with the handler that you desire. They just hung out together and practiced making eggs all the time. When I would separate them for personal training they would both freak out and accomplish nothing. You must have figured this out early as you only have one. They are neat birds but I have learned that birds are quite messy in a house.

Took care of my mom's parrot for a few months - interesting because we had two cats who were scared shitless of the parrot.

That is a very pretty bird..... I have dogs and cats... When I lived in Barbados, there was a red Macaw at a bar I frequented. The bird would greet me by name when I came in.... It did not greet anyone else by name..... We never figured out how he picked it up... Years later, whenever I saw an episode of Cheers and Norm came in, I thought of that bird and laughed. Cheers, RickO

I had a budgerigar named Sidney. He had a crooked beak but I loved him just the same.

I also had a cockatiel named Woody.

Sidney lived to be 10 and Woody almost 20 years old.

I taught Woody how to do the wolf whistle but then he wouldn't stop and he did it all the time LOL.

I've only had chickens and turkeys. ;)

(We did have a pet duck once that we walked on a leash. He didn't fly due to some injury. He was mortally wounded when a neighbor ran over his foot with a car).

We had plenty of chickens, we chopped their heads off in the fall and processed them 100 at a time. As kids we LOVED letting them run with no head but my grandfather put a stop to that quick GRRR. :)

Back in the 50's my parents acquired a blue parakeet from a barber, who smuggled a bunch of them into the U.S. in a jacket that had secret pouches sewed into the liner. He was extremely intelligent, talked, whistled, sung. He took showers with me, ate food off my tongue, even flew out of my grandfathers house up into a tree and came back. His name was Peppy which was short for Pepito Poncho Pasquale Ferrari the third. We lived in the projects in Brooklyn and the housing authority exterminator came one day to spray and accidentally killed him.
