Good news... bad news. There are about 150 people waiting in line to get a badge to get in.
Real bad planning by ANA. Not enough lines.
They should probably triple or quadruple the staff for the first, what, 8-13 minutes?
Would that be a good solution @Ronyahski ?

Seems to happen every time I go to one at the opening bell. Wish I was there.
I am an ANA member , but I switched to the Gen Admit lines and paid the $8. Still took 45 minutes to get through.
They need to smarten up, like not taking ANA membership applications or renewals in the same line where so many are just trying to get into the show.
And yes Swampboy, they need more lines, for more like 2 hours, if they don’t make changes.
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

I always registered in advance. Just walk in when the doors open.
I'd love to do that but it's tough to plan months in advance when you have a 2 year old and your life is generally just total chaos intersperced with fleeting moments of calm.
It would help if they took pre-registration up until maybe 10 days before the show instead of shutting it down 3+ months in advance!
FYI
I pre-registered and received my tags in the mail. As it turns out, I can't attend, but it didn't cost anything

The market will be double-nuclear for the next 30 minutes!
No one in that crowd will be humming this tune...

Someone let me know if my $5000 bid holds up on the 1913 nickel.
I know I always heard that bourse photos were a no no.
Is that correct?
I'm thinking if it's not verboten some cell pics would be welcome.

Seems that low bullion prices are not a problem to collectors. That bodes well.
1913 Nickel. Amazing coin.
Awwww..... Look at all the little security cameras lined up and smiling. Such a homey touch! How 'cute.'
I am going to win I just know it!!!!

Is the next stop the snack bar? ...and then the bathroom?
(Whistle) That 1913 Liberty Nickel is CAC approved! How many other 1913 Liberty Nickels can say that?

Glad to see the high spirited opening. Lets hope the discussion stays on coins and not dining etiquette (mustard, etc).
Here is a new service everbody will want.
They are at the ANA right now!

Now that's really silly. "Big Mac"
MAC has been done with QA or QC

Probably one of the ideal historical cities for the ANA, I was there last time but economics make it hard to justify the trip.

Yes they are, having found out that none of the Big Mac tokens would be available at the show.

We should be receiving show reports starting today.....Looks like a good crowd to start....Cheers, RickO
Note to self: pre-register next year. Thanks for info.
All the proper stuff came in the mail not sure why folks did not get it ahead of the show.
