US Mint needs to get out of the same old same old norm to spark better interest in some new innovated ways.

I think it is a wonderfully different and exciting way to see a group of GOOD winning single graphic done in many different looks .... size/weight/metal content in different mintage year.

:) Mine is a mini starter...but you may can see Cardinal's registry set for the entire group <3

Do you have a similar group of other designs in your collection?

A good idea which of course will not happen because of the mint thinking process.

Example: Look at all the fantastic Bi-Metalic Ringed coins being made all over the world. Us, nothing.

I couldn't figure out why Liberty Cap coins had her cap so far off her head. Then I saw these just now and realized there's a pole! That led me down the wiki rabbit hole of why it's there! :D

Thanks, I've now learned something new about history, and about US Coins!!

What a nice grouping!! Thanks for sharing! :)

I, too, wish the U.S. Mint would issue more artistic offerings! :'(

The US Mint cannot do anything outside of gold coins and medals without congressional approval.

And all that congress wants to give us is quarter and dollar coin series and commemoratives that no one wants.

    So, good luck with that...

They will just to have another meeting about it. Nothing wastes more time and accompolishes less real work than meetings.

    That design would definitely fly!

There's a lot of criticism here about what the Mint is producing these days but it's much better than when there was nothing but proof sets and Mint sets offered and the occasional medal. If you don't like the current stuff it's easy to ignore 'em. I think what the Mint and those who control it should concentrate on is the elimination of the cent and five cents and generally reforming our entire coinage.

At least they resurrected the classic Walking Liberty and St. Gaudens $20 designs for the bullion coins since the 1980s.

Maybe the Pan-Pac $50 is due for a reappearance?

I like the original inspirations (Syracuse decadrachm and Corinth Pegasus / Athena stater) a bit better, though.
