NEWP Elgin... what do you think?

I've had trouble finding one of these that I thought looked exciting. Got this from Mike Printz @FinallyHere HJB. He sold a pretty nice commem set - not too high grade but with sweet eye appeal - in I think 6 seconds flat, and this was one of those pieces.

Share your Elgin, or if anyone got another coin from this set.

Pics by Mike. Thanks!

I looked for one of those (in the OP) years ago at coin shows in Seattle... saw a couple, but none that I liked.... I should look around again, I like the reverse design. Cheers, RickO

Congrats... It's a tough issue color wise as others have stated. It's even worse when atop toning your strike continuous. Thanks to the internet I have seen a few EDS with a well struck baby Virginia Dare, but then something else on the coin surface wise was a detraction.

    Thanks all.

@Broadstruck - is that Virginia Dare on the Elgin, too? Not just on the Roanoke? How many other people were on more than 1 commen?

@BG - is that Vermont from the same collection?

Robert E. Lee. Don't think that is Virginia Dare in Elgin.

Ha... No that just shows my brain doesn't function that early prior to 2 cups of coffee "SMACK" :dizzy:

It's just a pioneer woman holding a baby on the Elgin.

The Elgin is a truly uninspired design. But your example is quite appealing. Mike is a go to guy for pleasing Commems.

Here is one I added to my set many years ago. Your post made me go find it as it has been a long time since I have taken a look.
