1799 DollarDie State Attribution

I sent pictures of this coin to PCGS per their request over a week ago. I wanted to know if PCGS will even include die state attributions on the label. They haven't responded as yet. The coin is currently in an old green label ANACS EF 40 holder as a B-16b which is believed to be incorrect. We think it's an "A". Am I waiting for nothing?

What say you?

I have no idea about the attribution, but it sure is a nice coin.... Cheers, RickO

    Same!

In my experience emailing PCGS you are definitely waiting for nothing as they never respond to anything.

Looks like die state I (a?) with no large die breaks; however, the die is clashed which is a different die state. Therefore not state I. Best is to send back to ANACS for review.

After reading a confusing description of Die States
I believe it may be Die State III , which is Bolender-16a
and the coin does have clashing above the date
caused by impression of rev. clouds.
State I is perfect with all berries strong.

State II is with berries weaker, especially the one at
    the top left.

That's what I was thinking (III) as it matches the description but I saw no "a" or "b."

I use the Bowers Encyclopedia. Is there an update you have?.

I use the 2013 edition of Stack's Bowers Galleries
with a foreword by Martin Logies
    and earlier Bowers books.
