My latest Ebay purchase

Last week I bid on an 1884 CC GSA Morgan dollar on ebay. The owner of the coin only had close up photos of the coin. It was NGC graded MS 64* and CAC approved. I put in a high bid, because of the great toning it looked like it had.
As I was waiting for the bidding to come to an end, I was looking on Heritage auction records. I got an email while looking on there alerting me that I had just won the item. I found a coin in Heritage's records that looked like it had toning similar to the one I had just won. That Morgan had sold for $288 with buyers premium.
So this week I eagerly waited for my toned Morgan dollar to arrive. It showed up Thursday, and looked better than the ebay auction photos.
The GSA holder not only had the NGC label and CAC sticker on it, but also a Heritage auction number.
So I looked up the Heritage number
on the holder. It matched the coin that I was looking at while I was bidding. https://coins.ha.com/itm/gsa-dollars/silver-and-related-dollars-morgan-dollars/1884-cc-1-gsa-ms64-ngc-cac-ngc-census-12007-5894-and-141-73-pcgs-population-362-212-and-141-73-ms64-mintag/a/131750-24441.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 My heart sank. I paid over what it had sold for on Heritage.
Looking the coin over with a loop made me not regret overpaying for it so much. Because it did look nice. The first 8 caught my eye. It looked like it had a spike in it. The only thing that could save me, I figured, would be if it was a better VAM.
So I started my search on VAMWorld. I started with VAM 4 spiked date (R4). It looked like it matched but I went on to check 4A (R5) and 4B (R6). My coin ended up being VAM 4B.
Well I might have overpaid for the coin, but at least it's an R6 VAM.

'Don't worry, be happy'....as the song goes.... 'In every life we have some trouble.
When you worry you make it double.' You got a coin you liked, it looked better than the auction picture, it is a VAM....So, you paid a little more.... Sing that song again and move along... Cheers, RickO

I thought it is good deal. The seller lost money because he has to pay ebay/paypal or even shipping to you plus ha shipping. You should be happy.
