Cheapest graded coin I have ever bought, just a fun pickup!

Found this and was astonished that someone actually had this graded. Picked it up for a dollar just because why not! Take a look.

Put that baby up on eBay with a $1.25 start plus shipping and you will make a profit
He could make a profit here. I really need that.
Someone likely thought it was the DDR die 1.
Reminds me of the 1916 low grade Mercury dimes I will see graded and then I think, of course! The submitter must have thought it was a 1916-D.

Sometimes the grading services had special deals but you had to send a minimum of 10 coins. Sometimes the submitter only had 8 or 9 coins to submit for slabbing so they added one or two cheap coins to meet the minimum submission requirement. I'm guessing that this is what happened in the case of this coin.

For a dollar, I would have bought it too.... What the hey....a slabbed coin for that price is a deal. Cheers, RickO

Or it could be the coin had sentimental value to someone. I have a fine 1883-O Morgan I want to get slabbed, first coin I bought, got it at a flea when I was about 10.
It was the early 1970s, cost a few bucks, it seemed like all the money in the world.
Nice pick up!
