Why dont they just put the grade on the trueview?

I have always wondered this. Give me a good reason. Is it just so we can do "guess the grades". In any event its aggravating looking up the cert number all the time.

AMEN!! But my guess is: True View taken before coin graded.
Ah, yes, I forgot about that. They could still put it on the photo after, though.
Probably for aesthetic purposes. Having the grade there would detract from the picture of the coin.
I use the white background version of the trueviews, with none of the writing or other designs.

I like it without. But perhaps just store the name type grade cert as the picture file on your computer. Just click rename

Coins are permanent...........ish. Grades are ephemeral.
I agree!
I would like to see the grade but what about the crackout/re-grade issue? That would be a real can o' worms.
I'd like to see the grade !!!
What @BryceM said.
You cant rock the baby till it pops.
I really like TruViews and prefer them without the grade....Sure, takes a few seconds to check if you really want to know... but when I see a TruView, for me, it is about appreciating the coin for it's detail and beauty. That would be like putting price tags on paintings in the Louvre...Cheers, RickO
One possible reason is it's not a bad thing for a company to have people click over to their site. Putting the grade on the TVs would probably show a sizeable decrease in website traffic I'd imagine.
My guess is some coins have 3 or more different grades depending on persistence of owner with resubmissions to get better grade.
Good point.
I was going to use this as another reason in my original post. However, it is flawed because with persistence, you could find the original image and original grade.
Yes, but if you see an early truview and recognize the coin as a MS67+ but the truview has written on it MS66, it would just add confusion to muddied waters. With the cert number, most people will not look up.
Coin A is graded MS-66 with a TV. Several years go by. It is sent in again and is graded MS-67 with a TV. Now it is in a 67 slab with a new and different TV #. No one will know it was ever sent in before, UNLESS, there is a way to access Images for all the coin A's ever graded, see the coin and pull up the obsolete grade.
I still wish the grade was on the TV image.
It also helps your grading skills by trying to gtg before looking it up, or compare your judgement with the PCGS graders.
