I know some of you, like me, really like circulation cameos

I have an album with a page for each denomination devoted solely to Circ cams. I don't add to it much but I found this 64 Kennedy today that fits in well.
I know there's been other threads for these but they never get boring so if anyone wants to post one of theirs please do.

I guess, for some. For me, it was immediate. Before I even knew they were a "thing", I knew that I loved the look.

I like that Kennedy a lot. Maybe Lord Marcovan will stop by, he is working on a set of CircCam Peace Dollars.

This is a typical look of a circulated cameo, IMO. I find them attractive, though they are not what I collect.

But I think a set of them would be pretty cool, regardless of series.

I have admired many of the Circulation Cameos @lordmarcovan has posted here and on other forums.

Submitted this recently. Think it fits the designation of circ cam. Unfortunately ( and unbeknownst to me ) the graders found this was "mounted". I see no evidence

It came to me in one of them screw-together Capital holders.
A shame, considering fewer than 100 are known.

I do like the circam look... That Kennedy is unique...not many modern coins are found like that. Cheers, RickO

This "look" can be easily imitated by holding a coin in candle soot, then wiping with a soft cotton cloth - baby diaper works well. Shoe polish, "carbon black," even flat black paint will work in a similar fashion. A more "authentic" process is to hold a silver coin over warm sulfur until it's nearly black, then carry in the pocket for a few days. (Red wine also works - and it tastes better than sulfur.) Copper can be treated similarly using hot bleach or boiled cabbage.

I know that old coins often have this look, but modern "circulation cameos"? It is easy to dismiss this area of collecting, but I'll have to admit that I have set aside a coin or two with this appearance just because I liked the look.

Halco - Nope. Only that there are multiple ways to produce this appearance. Sulfur and pocket is and accelerated version of what is visible in most of the photos.
