Auction bid advise

A coin of interest is currently in a 66 holder with CAC. From coinfacts, the same coin is shown 4 times in a 65 holder (different cert numbers, none showing as CAC) and once in a 64 holder. The guide prices go from 300 in 64 to 800 in 65 to 2200 in 66. My opinion is that the 65 grade is right, but I have no chance to buy at the 65 price. What would your bid strategy be?

Buy the best looking one.
If you believe it to be a 65, but you cannot buy it at a 65 price, then it is overpriced.
Pass.
If it's a 66 CAC, it's a 66 CAC. If you don't like it at that price, just don't buy it. But your opinion that it is only a 65 will have little bearing on its actual sale price.

Barring some crazy event, you won't get something in a 66CAC holder for 65 money. So if you only think it's a 65, pass on it and find another one.

Look around for a super choice MS-64!
My bid strategy would be to set a max bid I feel comfortable with, and keep it. I have always had a problem finding more nice coins I would like to buy, then finding the money to pay for them....
Very true.
don't run up the price wait till close to end then put your bid in for most your willing to pay.
Best place to buy !

There's always morons like me willing to pay the sight unseen price.

If it is slabbed and CAC'd at 66, you have zero chance of paying 65 money... move on and find a 65 you like. Cheers, RickO
If it's a 66 that only looks like a 65 to me, I wouldn't buy it. You would have very little chance to pay anywhere near 65 money, especially if CAC stickered. I'd hold out for a better coin.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll monitor but likely pass.
