I sure hope the new RP set doesn't create the same fiasco as last year's EU sets did. I imagine they will be packaged in similar fashion and some will complain about nonexistent oil spots. I'm not sure how I feel about reverse proofs, sometimes they can look kind of weird, like negatives of a photo. I know there's already a string talking about this set, but what's the general consensus? A sell-out or slow burn?

Thanks for the reminder! I just put an alert on my phone to remind me as it gets closer. I'd imagine a quick sell out and it might revitalize interest in proof sets. Although the enhanced uncirculated sets do not appear to have performed well on the secondary market so far.
I saw another post on this today.... I am not a fan of RP's... though many here do like them. I may wait to get an ASE on the market in a couple of years...just to add to my run of ASE's. They will be cheaper then...

I want to see a clear picture of them. I really really wished they had made the whole set silver....easy sellout then

I think they will, but the price point for the set is the issue for the RP set.

Yes, they are $55 with about $20 in silver. The EU sets were $29.95.
The EU cents go for $15 to $20 and the halves go for $10-$12. The Sacs are about $8. There is very little interest in the quarters, nickel and dime. So, you've got $33 to $40 in singles from the EU set at a $29.95 cost.
For the RP set, given similar mintage, let's assume similar price points, then you've got $33 to $40 in singles + $1.35 face in 90% which is about another $15. So at a $55 price point, you may not have enough value in the singles for the added cost.

I think these sets will be popular with the flippers. I'm just not sure how long the euphoria will last. a mintage of 200,000 means most people who want one will be able to get one

Us mint website product schedule. Try that. Not pictured yet and I can't do links. There is a John Adams one released the same day 8/16. No price yet either. I was just looking at the schedule and saw these.
