(Grades are rolling in already) What happens in Vegas............Show Grading

If the graders want to grade my coins nicely this time, I promise to leave that dirty secret in Vegas.

So I have 3 orders going.

-Raw: Raw coins and crackouts, including two of them that were cracked from the Sotheby's auction. (Could cause me serious pain) Not only did that collector have old slabs, he had an eye for picking out undergraded coins.

-Regrades: Coins that crossed in the past and I now want the graders to hold them in their hands rather than grade them through the plastic. (A Lance trick! @lkeigwin )

-Reconsiderations: All with CAC and all of them lovely for the grade. One is from the Sotheby's auction that is one grade too low. I can't handle the pain of having that one go down, which can certainly happen these days, so I did not crack it.

    I doubt there are much better grades assigned at special events or shows; NGC has their events in tandem with a major auction company, "invitation" or "members only". With the rigorous photography on high end coins, you can't hide much.

    There is no guarantee show grading won’t be more consertavive. How many graders do they have on roster. Which ones do show grading vs in house?

    I could not be more pessimistic than I am, so I might be happy. I have also been roasted on grading so far this year. I had a CAC order go 100% pass the other day, all new slabs. What does that say?

    PCGS’s goal on crossovers has always been to get all the good/best NGC coins into PCGS holders. That’s how I read it

    Bryan you are flying straight into a head wind on your crossovers. May the force be with you. I might fly in at out on Thursday or Friday to drop one medal off for a crossover and shake babies and kiss hands while I’m there

    From what I know and what I’ve seen and what I’ve read...you just never know. Sometimes they’re loose and sometimes they’re tight.....you just never know. Best of luck Bryan.

    One head scratcher, you probably missed something. An entire submission of head scratchers they grade too tight.

    As for the stoned catfish, Look like one from china all the catfish I caught have back fins this one does not. :*
