Took about 17 nanoseconds to go Jenks PF69 and "Bravo"
And a shout-out to Eric Streiner for getting and slabbing the very memorable Jenks proof set grouping. @MrEureka's protégé turned out OK

I wonder if it is possible to clean up the spot without destroying the coin or its overall originality. It is a beauty nevertheless, but the spot sticks out and detracts from an otherwise virtually flawless piece. Maybe @insider2 could hook you up with some tips.
I have often said that there are "good coins in bad slabs" and this coin helps make that point, even if it's not exactly the type of coin I had in mind when I said it. Thanks for sharing your NEWP with us and I hope you enjoy the coin...Mike

One of the BEST TD's ever........ But the obverse is probably a 69, with the reverse spot the reverse cannot be greater than 66. Grades are not meant to be reflective of beauty.

I don’t know for a fact it’s ever been to CAC but most likely. The color is 100% original tissue toning - almost certainly from the Jenks sets
The only reason it won’t CAC or cross is that it’s just not a technical 69 with the spot on the reverse. But some coins transcend their numerical grade - this is one of them. I’ve been contemplating a purchase for a year now and finally pulled the trigger
If John called it a 68+, it had to have been to CAC right?
I'm not sure if this would interest you, so I'll throw it out as an FYI, but NGC now offers a service comparable to the PCGS True VIew service. At this grade level, the plastic will always be a pain.

Excellent coin, and another good example of buying the coin on its merit.
Surprised you haven’t seen it in-hand.
I trust Laura’s assessment 100%

The front looks to me to be as close to 70 as realistically possible. And the front is the side that matters. I love this coin.
Fantastic coin! Congrats.

I like the coin and that's all that counts.
I'd like to see a photo of it in direct lighting

It looks tons better in hand. The spot is barely noticeable and the fields just glow. It’s one of my favorite coins
TDN, I'm glad you put the pic back up. Sweet coin!!!

I know I've seen that coin posted by you before. Looks like you pulled the trigger this time.

We'll pray for you.
And that you can be healed from this sin of Non-CAC and Non-PCGS.
