@ECHOES - all I can say is that I hope you are happy with them.
The 1957 is Schwager# PCGS-010-3-2 (known with a '57, '61 and '61D dime).
The 1960 is similar, but with a different coin number, David usually assigns a new number (makes searching the PDF of the book much easier) @davidschwager

A nice sampling of sample slabs...
Cheers, RickO
I seem to have the stripped down version......no serial number,no coin number,no grade rattler
Silly question. If the coin says sample MS65 is it possible that the grade is not accurate and they just put a dime in
to test the look of the holder?

I would say the grade assigned is accurate...

Kkathyl - I have one where it's said they were testing the look and "sealability" of the holder (below) and the coin date is odd (1987) but, by in large, the grade of a typical sample label matches the coin pretty well.
edited twice for spellcheck mistakes......
Bought it from a former PCGS insider - story goes they needed a dime for the test and he just pulled a random one out of his pocket.
Added this one this week - notice anything odd??

I see it,
This one is odd too

Yes, I notice it too, obverse at face of holder.

Late to the party, as usual...
@chumley - that's the better rattler sample, the all zeros is much rarer than 7000023.
@Kkathyl - generally they did samples with a minimum grade, so MS65 or better (you'll also see samples of that age with MS64).
@Lakesammman - interesting story, that doesn't explain the 20ish Lincoln cents with that same look that were sold in 2014 and recently by muddonk, but is as plausible as anything else we've heard.
@Lakesammman - hey, what's a few miles in the original 13 colonies. We'll hang together or we'll all hang (together).
@Sandman70gt - we occasionally see production and samples where the reverse is front, usually because the submitter asked for it specially (toners). Which makes yours odd, because it's a Lincoln Shield sample, yet they didn't put the shield front!?!? Nice
