In general, what is preferred/required closeup of the coin, full image of the PCGS holder, both? Obverse and reverse? Coins would be in the registry.

Just looking to see if I have my bases covered.

Your insurance carrier could best answer your question. They are the one that determines the validity of a claim.

True, I assume I won’t have the same carrier forever, so I was hoping to see if others have experience with this question.

The question I am looking for some guidance on is if there is any value of having a full slab picture. There may not be enough detail in the coin to identify. It could be cracked out after it is stolen.

My thought then is, best image would be a high quality shot of the coin so identifiable marks can be seen.

Insurance carrier will never put anything in writing, about what may or may not happen in the future or the criteria that the adjusters, employed by the insurance company, may or may not allow as "proof" of condition/value/etc.

    In other words..........

    1 - prove ownership
2 - prove condition at time of loss
3 - prove market vale at time of loss
4 - prepare to be stonewalled and lied to.

Insurance companies do not like to pay out $ on a loss. #4 is the norm so the more documentation the better. Peace Roy

Documentation is paramount. I pursued this with my insurance carrier...and he stated that pictures and testimonials (i.e. professional opinions - and yes, TPG slabs would suffice) of experts would be necessary....and premiums are expensive. I invest in security. Cheers, RickO

Thanks for the replies. The more the better. Sounds like a full slab picture is a necessity to start with. Thanks!
