What if I wanted to buy 200 proof 69 "common" half dollars of same year?

My company has a significant anniversary this year and we may want to (based on my great idea..lol) give every employee a proof 69 (has pop of 5,000+ in PCGS) and retails for $25 area (don't want to give away exact year). So, who is best dealer to help me find this many? Willing to pay them for their time, but going on ebay and buying 1 at a time (15 or so offered right now) does not seem practical. This is a common proof with hundreds in proof 70 and am just looking for 200 or so in proof pcgs proof 69. Appreciate any thoughts, thanks

Cheapslabs.com may be able to rustle up some of these for you.

With all due respect, unless you work for a coin company, the employees won't know or care what PR69 is (will they?).
Why not buy decent raw proof half dollars and have them slabbed with a special label commemorating your company and its anniversary? If no grading is needed and it is just a slab with a custom label I would think you could do it for well under the $25 a piece needed for the PR69s you mentioned.
Thanks for mentioning me. I have hundreds and hundreds of PR69DCAM Kennedy Half dollars in stock of each date between the years 1973-1978 (and priced at wholesale in quantity). After 1978, I have much smaller quantities of each date. Hope this helps.
Wondercoin.
But many dates sell well below guide. Some can be had for $5 or so each.
This would NOT be a welcome gift in most routine workplaces that I have ever encountered. Plain and simple.
JBK, great idea, thanks, so do I jus call PCGS etc., im just a collector but we would pay to have our company name etc on a label it is not about the coin, it's about the celebration, I just though proof was nice idea and the "50" part is part of all this (we are not 50 years old, date would be in 1990's area).

I did it for my High School's class 25th (PCI slab w/custom label) and 50th (ICG custom label) reunions. They loved them! Everyone still had them too. It helped that the coins were silver.
No sure how it can be initiated - I guess start with a call (NOT an email based on my own prior experiences) and see what they say. Other TPGs do this or some variation of it, also.
Another potential idea is a Lucite "embedment" (paper weight).
If you went either route I'd just be sure you got decent coins as there seems to be a lot of hazy ones out there (depending on year).
No gold for the 50th?
if I had Hansen's money, I would have. Due to the date, the only coins were K-Rands.
I have always liked coins that have been encased in lucite for this purpose.
You can also put a logo, commemoration date, etc in there as well.

What ruled out bullion ASE ?
A much better idea.
Coin gifts piss most people off.
Ask DC to make something up for you.
Hoard the keys.
In the past I used ASEs packaged in small presentation boxes from Wizard Coin supply as special recognition awards for project teams. They were very well received by employees -- not one person expressed disappointment that the coins were not in TPG holders or were not MS-69 or some such.
You company might do well to skip the extra expense (and lack of real value) of TPG graded pieces, and consider Unc or proof ASE's in plush clam-shell boxes.
Milk spots would do that.
Find 200 in assorted grades for the date you want, contact ANACS about a custom non-graded label with your company graphic plus anniversary text and see what they can do for you. I've had them do something similar in the past.

Yeah, they are like.. so it is a half dollar that I can’t spend... thanks
Here comes the hammer.

We (Rochester Numismatic Association) did it for our 100th anniversary by simply arranging with NGC to do a special label (no grade) and a custom label. This would be much cheaper and easier than rustling up a bunch of Proof 69. You could get roll quantities of UNCs or Proofs for your years of interest and simply send them to NGC or ANACS or whomever will do the label for you.
Definitely go proof in the 90's era
MS Kennedy half dollars are dogish in the 90's
Hey thank you for the 50 cent piece! Glad my company think I am worth more the a quarter.
I can see Nancy P really slamming this as crumbs and she might be right for once.
The other half's company gave out candy bars with motivational and. Praising statements on them
I still think about that one. I'd rather have the $1.
Think of the message you want to send to employees and not about your hobby.
Is the company's anniversary so trivial as to merit a half dollar gift? Really? Has company Sr. Management thought this through from a sound employee morale and message point of view.
From an employee's view you will be giving them a shiny half dollar in a cheap plastic holder - essentially junk to them. And don't rationalize by claiming to introduce them to numismatics - that's a very misleading and potentially damaging approach to business management. You can tell them its special, but it won't look special and will not be emotionally special. Give 'em a half day off with pay, or free lunch (good stuff not pizza)....or?
An ASE (or maybe AGE ?) will almost never have "milk spots" or any other significant visual problems. It will also be much more impressive than a crumby half dollar. It's doubtful any of the recipients will understand or care anything about "PR 69" "MS 69" or any other collector silliness.
it might not be a super idea, but I definitely want to hear how it goes
Why not enroll everyone in the " jelly of the month club" it's the gift that keeps on giving.
Frankly, coins should never be given as gifts to non-collectors. And coins should very rarely be given as gifts even to collectors.
Coins are important to collectors.... and people who spend them....Most others do not find them interesting. I give an ASE for each new child born into our family...and I know they go in a drawer/box or some dark place and are never seen again. Cheers, RickO
Really appreciate all the feedback pro and con. We are moving forward with one ounce silver

That's a quote from one of my favorite movies.

Cheaper and easier to get this done at ANACS.
There you go now your on the right track! 1 OZ of silver sound awesome! Even has a good ring to it! Good job
Here is another thought, Ask @dcarr to custom make 200 coins in silver.
